Etcetera
the late-night arm of Live Theatre Workshop

Now in its ninth season, Etcetera -- Tucson’s first and longest-running after hours theatre ensemble -- is proud to be providing the theatre-going community in Tucson with challenging contemporay plays and musicals (HEDWIG & THE ANGRY INCH, DYING CITY, FAT PIG, WHITE PEOPLE, MY NAME IS RACHEL CORRIE), original works by local artists (FROZEN HEART, THE PENIS MONOLOGUES, THE EATING DISORDER TALENT SHOW, HIGH CRIMES, THE WIZARDS HAVE LANDED) and reinvigorated classics (HAMLET, THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, TITUS ANDRONICUS) as well as season after season of Arizona Premieres (PERSEPHONE OR SLOW TIME, JAILBAIT, THE BOOK OF LIZ, MR. MARMALADE, KIMBERLY AKIMBO).
Located in east Tucson, Etcetera is the third arm of theatre programming at Live Theatre Workshop. Founded by Sybille Bruun, Matt Walley and Jeremy Thompson in January of 2004, Etcetera was created to offer a change of pace and tone for audience members who were hungry for something different than what is generally produced by theatre companies in Tucson. Artists were also kept in mind during the implementation of this new programming, and it was decided from the beginning that Etcetera would never be concerned with meeting financial goals -- only with quality, of both product and of process. That simple idea is what has allowed Etcetera to continue to grow to this day and what has made it such a haven for local actors and directors looking for a unique, collaborative and challenging experience, or even just to produce a play no other company in Tucson will touch.

OUR MISSION: To provide challenging and relevant theatre programming opportunities for artists committed to presenting works that are fearless, exhilarating, uncensored and revelatory. Our hope is to cultivate, educate and inspire a new generation of audiences and artists who will help to maintain the growth and momentum of community-based theatre in Arizona.
